What Can You Do to Help?

From Stuart Lang, State Missionary, Georgia Baptist Mission Board and Aaron McCollough, Associational Missionary, Troup Baptist Association

Four Important Things You Can Do:

1:  Pray.  This is the greatest thing any of us can offer.

2:  Donate to the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief efforts.

  • 100% of all money donated to this cause will be used to help Hurricane Harvey disaster victims.
  • The Troup Baptist Association is encouraging all of its member churches to receive a special offering for disaster relief.  Send those funds to the Georgia Baptist Mission Board Financial Services, 6405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, Georgia 30097-4092.  Be sure to specify Disaster Relief in the memo line.  If you prefer, checks can be sent to the Troup Baptist Association P.O. 550 LaGrange, Georgia 30241 and we will forward to the proper place.
  • Donate online at www.gbcdisasterrelief.org.

3:  Become a Credentialed Volunteer.  Attend an upcoming DR Orientation on September 16 at New Providence Baptist in Forsyth, Georgia.  Information and registration (deadline September 8) can be found at www.gbcdisasterrelief.org. (Training tab)

4:  Assemble and Collect Buckets of Care.  The Troup Baptist Association is also encouraging all of its member churches to participate in the Buckets of Care initiative.  Information is located at www.gbcdisasterrelief.org (Buckets of Care tab).  Store the completed buckets at your church.  Once Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief establishes regional collection points, the Buckets of Care will be delivered.  We may need volunteers with trucks and trailers to collect and deliver the buckets to the regional collection point.  If you need assistance transporting your buckets to the regional collection point, or if you can volunteer to help transport buckets, please contact the Troup Baptist Association (706) 884-1975 or email angela@troupbaptist.com or aaron@troupbaptist.com.
