Men’s Day Agenda

Stacey Dyer 2

April 25, 2015 is the date for the Troup Baptist Association Men’s Day.  All of our churches are encouraged to mark this date and participate with us.  Our plans are as follows:

We encourage every church to start the day with a Men’s Fellowship/Prayer Breakfast.  After this, we have identified three areas of recreational interest in which we encourage your men to participate:

1) Turkey season will be in on April 25th. So, we are encouraging all the turkey hunters in your church to identify men who do not attend church, but enjoy hunting, and invite them to attend your church’s breakfast and then spend the day with them turkey hunting. (Hunting property will be made available for those needing a place to hunt.)
2) Golf is always in season. So we are encouraging the men in your church who enjoy golfing to invite men who do not attend church, but enjoy golfing, to attend your church’s breakfast and then go golfing with them. We have a Orchard Hills Golf Course in Newnan reserved.  We will do a four man scramble. (See fler for more details.)
3) Fishing is always in season. So, we are encouraging the fishermen in your church to identify men who don’t attend church, but enjoy fishing, and invite them to attend your church’s breakfast and then spend the day with them fishing. (We will fish lake West Point.  See flyer for more info.)

At 6pm we will have a Men’s Fellowship Barbeque/Awards Ceremony at the Family Life Center at Callaway Baptist Church on John Lovelace Road in LaGrange. Awards will be given for the winners of the events listed above. (Quite naturally, we will have rules and regulations for all the events – and they will be posted before the events.) We will also have door prizes and other giveaways that night.  *Please note that the barbeque is open for all the men in our churches who want to attend – and it’s free!

Stacy Dyer from X-treme Christian Outdoors and Outdoor Ministry Consultant for the Georgia Baptist Convention will be the featured speaker.

So, please begin to promote this in your church!

Four of our pastors have agreed to help coordinate this event. If you have any questions, please contact one of these four men:

1: Golf: Pastor Terry Rainwater: 706.575.4573
2: Fishing: Pastor Doug Bingham: 706.302.6477
3: Turkey Hunting: Pastor Bryan Geter: 706.573.7798
4: Venue Preparation & Publicity: Pastor Andy Buchanan: 706.594.5702

You may contact me at: 706.302.9162 or 706.884-1975 (Office)

We need every church to participate!  If you have men who want to participate, but don’t share an interest in any of these sports, we will need men to help setup and take down at Callaway.  We will also need prayer warriors, counselors, and a lot of helpers in many different ways.  So, if your men want to participate – we will find a way for them to participate!  Contact us!

Hey, I’m excited!

We do need for all of our churches to RSVP how many men will attend the banquet from their individual church so we know how to adequately prepare for the barbeque.  WE NEED THE RSVP THE ASSOCIATION OFFICE BY APRIL 20th!!!  So, please let us know!  RSVP to Angela Maddux at: angela@troupbaptist.com or 706.884.1975.
