The Pastor Protection Act

Last year the Georgia General Assembly passed H.B. 757, better known as, “The Pastor Protection Act.”  This bill would have given legal protection to pastors who refuse to perform same sex marriages or to administer the sacraments of the church, on the grounds that such actions would be a violation of their personal beliefs and moral conscience.  Governor Nathan Deal vetoed this bill.  The Troup Baptist Association urges the Georgia legislature to bring this bill back to Governor Deal during the 2017 legislative session and for him to sign it into law.
