Advent is the celebration of the coming of Jesus into the world. It’s a wonderful way to pause and reflect on Jesus’ arrival during what can be the busiest time of year. This year, Advent begins on Sunday, December 1 and continues through Christmas Day. My theme for this year is “O, Holy Night!” and I will be writing devotionals each day for email and on our website. If you would like to receive the devotionals by email, subscribe and join us for the journey to the most blessed and holy night of all.

October 18 - November 27
Joining us for a 40-Day period of fasting and praying for our Country beginning October 18 and continuing through November 27.
This will be a time of seeking the Lord in humility and repentance for an outpouring of His grace, mercy and power on our country and the world.
We ask that you gather church members and friends who would take one or two of the 24-hour periods (sunset to sunset) during this time so that we have someone in our Association praying and fasting at all times during these 40 days.
When our neighbors hurt, we respond. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, your Georgia neighbors are in need of friends to help their churches and communities recover while sharing the hope of Christ.
You can give financially to help SEND RELIEF to those who need Disaster Relief and to our partners who are on the scene.
100% of your donation will go to help.
The Troup Baptist Association (TBA) exists to support, encourage, and develop cooperating churches in Troup, Heard, and Meriwether counties of Georgia. We believe we are “Better Together” so we have chosen to work hand-in-hand to SPREAD the Gospel, SERVE our communities, and SUPPORT one another in the mission given to all believers by Jesus Christ in the Great Commission. We are dedicated to helping one another thrive in fulfill our calling.
In the last part of Philippians 3:20-4:1, Paul writes to people that he loves deeply. His heart is full, wanting the best for them, when he writes,
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.
To this point in the chapter, Paul has been warning them to be careful of false teachers and how they should press on toward the prize and instead of living like the world. Now, with a look toward the future he writes, “our citizenship is in Heaven!”
